Update-12/30/22 - Replacement works great, none of the previous issues. Seems to read temperatures much better and has become a useful tool. Was hoping to use this the determine accurate temperatures for heat treatment. (~1500°) Found that the lasers emitting from the unit are not accurately lined up with the sensors and would return ridiculous readings. (Orange hot steel returning a reading in the low hundreds) Before I could even spend the time to figure out where the sensors were actually pointing the unit quit. I assumed it was sent with a dead battery and replaced the battery. Tried to turn it on again and it still didn't work. I had a dead unit.
