Great quality and very easy to use but I have had some issue with the accuracy when it comes to general air temperature and reading through other things -which I suppose may be normal for most other thermometers on the market. Such as, measuring through very thin glass, it will measure the temperature of the glass and if the air temperature is warmer than the object’s temperature, it tends to read the air temperature which makes it somewhat unreliable when trying to read temperatures in places like vivariums.

I bought this thermometer for my Ooni Karu 12 pizza oven. The Ooni thermometer is a bit pricey for what it is and I though this should do the job just fine, since I'm only looking for a rough temp of the pizza stone, not a precise measurement. It came in well packed, with instruction booklet containing a table with settings for different materials. This is important as it can give you inaccurate readings when set up wrong. I've used it so far twice on my pizza oven, couple of times around the house to check for thermal bridging etc. It did the job well. The display is bright and clear, it shows the MAX temp and the setting for material used. It has an option for C or F if needed. Not really a tool that you're going to use every day, so it's kinda hard to justify the purchase, but something nice to have around when needed (specially when having a pizza oven!). I will definitely use it in the future around my car as well. After a few weeks of not using it, when I tried to use it again, the display for some reason did not light up. You could still just about to see the readings, but without the backlight it was almost useless at this point. I've reached out to the seller via messages, explained the issue and received a reply to try and replace the batteries, which did not solved the problem. The seller then decided to offer a replacement without the need for me to send the defective unit back. Happy days. Overall, a good thermometer in this price range, accurate for my needs and the customer service is 5-star as well.

I use this to check the temperature of a pan, but I've also run around the house taking random measurements and asking my bored girlfriend if she knew the floor was 22 degrees (she didn't). You can turn the laser off as it's not needed for the actual measurement (it's just to aim), and you do have to be careful as it'll fry your eyes! Safety notice; once the device turns off it defaults back to being on. The laser makes a great cat toy! :-) It seems accurate, the display is bright and informative, and there are quite a few options in the menu that are easy to set.

Neat and easy to use and seems accurate as far as I could tell but the reading is affected by the reflectivity of the surface. I bought it to measure the temperature of my central heating radiators and I found one that was a little low due to a stuck valve. I also wanted to know if my ice cream maker was cold enough. The silver inside recorded only -7ºC but the less reflective outside measured -18ºC which was the temperature of the freezer drawer it was in. Provided you bear that in mind it is an excellent and very handy gadget and good value.

Sono già in possesso di un altro pirometro che ,devo dire la verità, ha un peso molto maggiore, forse segno di una qualità superiore ma necessitavo di un prodotto che nisurasse temperature più elevate perché ero convinto che l'altro arrivasse fuori scala sopra i 500 gradi Celsius, gradi a cui voglio portare il biscotto Saputo per abbreviare i tempi di girata in cottura. Questo arriva a circa 600 gradi quindi intorno ai 500 dovrebbe mantenere un buon livello di precisione, essendo in fondoscala ben distante. In più ha un notevole vantaggio in termini di usabilità il fatto che monti batterie a Pila classiche, di consegurnza posso usare pile ricaricabili. L'altro pirometro in mio possesso monta le batterie da 9V quadrate e un gior o fortunatamente ne avevo una di ricambio perché ha smesso di funzionare durante una serata per la pila scarica. Conto, avendone due di poter evitare situazioni simili e salvare la serata e al momento del bisogno mettere le pile in carica il giorno in cui devo pizzare per evitare di rimanere senza misuratore se o altro dovesse abbandonarmi per la carica in mezzo alla serata. Noto un leggero e fastidioso ronzio di sottofondo, che credo sia un difetto di qualche condensatore del modello in mio possesso, ma che non credo infici la misurazione a giudicare dalle volte in cui l'ho usato. Rispetto all'altro pirometro differisice di qualche decimo di grado che credo rientri nelle specifiche di fabbrica di entrambi e forse l'impugnatura meno inclinata risulta meno pratica nell'uso combinato a forni con aperture basse ma si tratta di piccolezze perché il cono dell'aria di misurazione è ridotto rispetto ad altri modelli offrendo, sulla carta, la medesima aria di misurazione sul punto indicato a una distanza maggiore dall'imbocco del forno. La qualità generale del prodotto nello specifico rimane molto buona e sono molto soddisfatto perché incontra le mie necessità e considerato il prezzo di acquisto in promo è davvero perfetto!
